If you were to look at someone's face. The first feature they tend to notice would be your eyes.
With this in mind, most women will tend to make their eyes appear bigger and brighter.
One way they achieve this is through making their eyelashes appear longer and more fluttery. Which in turn makes them brighter.
Unfortunately, I myself wasn't born with long thick lashes.
Most of my life I have tried to use all sorts of ways to make them seem longer including :
- Eyelash curlers,
- Heated eyelash curlers,
- Multiple coats of mascara,
- False lashes,
- False extensions.
All of them worked but not long-term.
I finally came to the conclusion, that if I wanted long lashes I would have to be patient and allow them to grow.
Did you know about an eyelash cycle?
I for sure didn't.
Here's how the eyelash cycle works.
Lashes have a life cycle consisting of three phases:
The growth phase (anagen), the degradation phase (catagen) and the resting phase (telogen). Following the telogen phase, the lash falls out and the life cycle begins again with a new lash in the anagen phase. The daily growth rate of a lash is 0.12–0.14 mm.
With this in mind, I knew I needed something that was going to strengthen my lashes in order for them to last and grow longer throughout the telogen phase.
Nowadays, I use eyelash growing serum every morning and night and my lashes and my face overall have never looked brighter. That’s why for this week’s blog post I wanted to share with you 5 reasons to use eyelash growing serum.
Here are my 5 reasons:
1) Your mascara is drying out your lashes
Mascara. That product which makes your lashes seem longer right? Wrong. Actually, wearing lots of mascara can only lead to keeping short and stubby lashes. This is because many mascaras contain chemicals such as alcohol. Which is what makes the layer of mascara dry your lashes and dry lashes lead to them becoming easy to snap, break or even fall off prematurely. Which means your lashes never get a chance to grow to their full potential.
This being said mascara can seem to help look good during the short term. Meanwhile, with no change long-term, you become more dissatisfied with your lashes appearance and continue to apply more mascara and the damage proceeds to carry on ultimately resulting in the same lashes you started with.
However, using an eyelash growing serum can help to retain moisture a the root of your lashes. Which makes it harder for them to snap or fall off. Allowing them to grow longer.
2) It saves you money
The average price of;
Mascara- drugstore around £6, luxury £20
Eyelash curlers- drugstore around £6, luxury £15
False lashes- £4-£5
So you see investing in an eyelash growing serum is best for long term results. Especially when all the other options above are short-term or need regular maintenance like the eyelash extensions.
With a good eyelash growing serum, you will only need to use it twice a day once in the morning and once before bed to keep them well moisturized. You can still use chemical-free mascara on top of your newly grown lashes as well for a more dark thicker appearance.
It is also less time-consuming than having to get reinstallments of extensions and cheaper.
3) Your lash extensions will last so much longer
Some of you may like the look of fake lashes and simply cannot cope without them. If this is the case using eyelash growing serum is a must.
Because the eyelash growing serum works in a way, which prevents your eyelash from breaking prematurely and falling out.
Due to the fact that extensions are on you actual lashes means that they will also withhold for longer as your natural lash will last longer in the telogen phase of growth.
This means fewer fills of lashes. Which means you won't have to go to a lash technician as often. Which, will save you your money.
4) Eyelash serum is better for the environment
If you look at the ingredients that are in mascara. You will see that there are lots of different chemicals contained within it. This being said many chemicals that have to be sourced or made are actually really bad for the environment. These chemicals are taken off usually with a makeup remover and cotton pad or a disposable make up remover wipe. Which can be even more damaging to the environment. Adding, to plastic waste, and releasing harmful chemicals into the water.
Not just mascara. But false lashes and extensions are made from plastic. Which can also be harmful towards the environment. In a way in which can harm marine life and increase the amount of waste on landfill sites.
So what is the solution? You might ask well the obvious choice would be to use an eyelash growing serum? Which of course will work and will prevent you from having to use mascara. But if you feel as if you would still like to use mascara. Make sure to get a 100% natural one so that it causes less harm to the environment?
Just to let you know the willow traders eyelash growing serum is 100% natural. So, you don't have to worry about it impacting negatively on the environment.
5) It saves you time
If you have a full-time job or at a stay at home mum its difficult to find time for the luxuries like applying make-up. So conveniently, eyelash growing serum is the perfect product for you it gives your lashes that thickness and length you've always wanted and taken out a few unnecessary makeup steps such as mascara and curling or applying fake lashes.
All you have to do is apply once in the morning and once before bed if you do your makeup in the morning or before you go out on a night to apply the eyelash growing serum before makeup rather then after for more effective results.
When the results are long term what is there to complain about?
How long will it take to see results?
Patience is key.
Realistically you are not going to apply it for a day and magically wake up with long thick fluttery lashes.
For optimum results, you really need to wait at least 1 month to see a dramatic difference in length. Depending on the rate at which your hair grows. If you have really fast growing hair you may see results sooner say 2 weeks and vice versa with slow growing hair.
A thing to remember is that if you do not have naturally curly lashes you may see growth within you lash appearance but they may not curl so this is where you may still need to use an eyelash curler which is to be used before mascara if you're wearing it otherwise you may pull off lashes.
How much and when should I use it?
So the applicator for the eyelash growing serum is like a small paintbrush. Which will make it easier for you to apply to the roots of your lash. For the optimum application, we recommend you dip the brush in the eyelash growing serum and swipe across the roots of your eyelashes. Coating them and the same for your bottom lashes.
Do this step twice a day in the morning and the evening OR alternatively you could apply it before makeup and after you've taken it off.
When can I stop applying it?
Realistically, when you have achieved your desired length you won't have to do it as often so the best thing to do if just apply it once a day or once every 2 days. However, if you would like guaranteed long, thick lashes all the time its probably best to still use it twice a day.
Can I still use mascara whilst using the eyelash growing serum?
YES. Even if you are using the eyelash growing serum you can still use mascara. However, this will not guarantee optimum growth and may lead to some premature fall out so for the best results do not use it but nothing extreme will happen if you carry on using mascara.
Why can't I just use castor oil or Vaseline?
You may have seen influencers or just general people use Vaseline or castor oil. To make there lashes longer and thought to yourself.
Does it work?
Why don't I just use that rather than pay for an eyelash growing serum?
Honestly, the oil and Vaseline do work. However, it is not as effective as the serum as it is only 100% off each product and the other ingredients in the serum helps to achieve the most growth. Plus the applicator if much more efficient within the serum.
